NMI Mission Statement

To mobilize the church in mission through praying, discipling, giving, and educating.

NMI Objectives

Praying: We intercede for leaders and churches, and for the Holy Spirit to draw all people to Jesus Christ. Everyone is welcomed to attend our prayer meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month. We intercede for the prayer requests on The Prayer Mobilization Line, and we give thanks for the Praise Reports. We also pray for other needs in our local churches and communities. Continue to pray for persecuted Christians all over the world. Many Christians are killed because they are Christians. The International Day of prayer for the Persecuted is usually observed on the second Sunday in November. Pray also for the people who live in the area of the 10/40 Window. This is a gospel resistant area between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator extending from northwest Africa across Asia.

The Nazarene World Week of Prayer will be observed from Sunday, March 1 through Saturday, March 7, 2015. This annual event unites Nazarenes around the world in prayer for the Church of the Nazarene, focusing our intercession on a different area each day of the week. Specific prayer requests for each region will be featured on the Prayer Mobilization Line during the Nazarene Week of Prayer.

Regional Prayer Plan

  • Sunday - Africa
  • Monday   - Asia Pacific
  • Tuesday - Eurasia
  • Wednesday - Mesoamerica
  • Thursday - South America
  • Friday - USA/ Canada
  • Saturday - The Persecuted Church

Discipling: Involving and mentoring future mission leaders, especially youth and children, to make Christ-like disciples for God's missions in the nations. Because of this objective we have introduced NMI Children and Youth Chapters here in our local church, and we have also started Adult Bible Quizzing.

Giving: Devoting ourselves and our resources, especially the World Evangelism Fund to extend Christ's kingdom. The Alabaster, Easter, and Thanksgiving Offerings are a part of the World Evangelism Fund, and we urge you to give generously. The Alabaster Offering is collected in February and September, and this offering is sent to our Headquarters in Kansas City and used to purchase properties and build churches, schools, hospitals, and homes all over the world.

The Easter Offering: is received at Easter time each year, and supports the global mission of the Church of the Nazarene. Special envelopes will be distributed for this offering. The Thanksgiving Offering is received each year and it used to support the global mission of the Church of the Nazarene.

We also give Crisis Care Kits and School Pal Packs every year. These are packages of specific items that are sent globally to disaster areas. This year we are giving them to the new immigrants who are staying at Camp Taconic.

Educating: Informing people of the world's needs and enabling our church to meet those needs in Christ. We also have six annual books and CDS that tell the story of Global Missions.

Child Sponsorship: We are sponsoring a boy from the Dominican Republic. His name is Jacobo Moreta Lorenso, and his reference number is 330 - 322358. Please pray for him.
